What happened?

The simple version is that on Saturday afternoon, one of our air conditioning and heating units experienced a buildup of pressure. This caused a pipe to disconnect, resulting in a water leak.  Notice the two red circles in the picture.  Fortunately, the situation was not as serious as it could have been.  We were on site quickly and were able to shut off the pump.  This is not something that is supposed to happen.  We are working with Total Heating and Cooling to determine exactly what caused the problem and what needs to be done to prevent it from happening again.

Total Heating and Cooling came back to MRC on Monday to conduct a further inspection of our heating and cooling system. After reviewing the system and putting together a list of the necessary parts, they told us today that the repair cost could be between $10,000 to $14,000.  They are available to begin the work during the week of September 14.

The insurance adjuster came today, Friday, September 4.  He suggested that we call a mitigation company to remove the moisture in the drywall in the nursery.  He commented that many times insurance does not pay for a broken heating and air-conditioning unit but will pay for water damage.  We now wait to hear what they decide.
